The Subaru BRZ has been on sale for a decade, and the brand is celebrating its 10th birthday by creating a limited-edition version of the two-door sports coupe.
Called the 2023 Subaru BRZ 10th Anniversary Edition, the limited run model features a few additions Subaru hopes will draw in some BRZ die-hards.
The sibling to the Toyota GR86 will, for its birthday, wear a 10th anniversary logo on the door trim, as well as blue stitching through the interior in places like the shifter boot, steering wheel, and seats. The seats perforations will also be blue.

Outside, black mirror caps, 18-inch alloy wheels, and black badging will signify a 10th Anniversary Edition.
Each car will also feature a numbered badge inside the cabin, from 1 to 150 of the units coming to Australia.
Despite previous special editions of the Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86 having received chassis and suspension tuning or wheel and brake packages, the BRZ 10th Anniversary Edition gets no such treatment.
The same 174kW/250Nm comes from its 2.4-litre boxer four, and anything that affects the way it drives has been left alone.
The 10th Anniversary Editions will only be available in one colour, Subaru’s WR Blue.
Of course, the 10th Anniversary Editions will only be available in one colour, Subaru’s WR Blue, though buyers can have a choice of six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
Subaru Australia managing director Blair Read says the brand expects to “attract the attention of BRZ enthusiasts and car collectors alike” with the limited run of cars.
“For the BRZ 10th Anniversary Edition, the engineers have taken the same absolute attention to detail they did on creating the BRZ’s complete package and added exclusive commemorative touches to the interior and exterior,” he said.
The BRZ 10th Anniversary Edition will come to Australia in a limited run of only 150 cars, priced from $43,090 before on-road costs for a six-speed manual or $46,890 for an auto, with deliveries starting from February 2023. Pre-orders are open now.
Since the Subaru BRZ was introduced in 2012, the model has received accolades and positive reviews for its simple approach to driving enjoyment, while its current second generation has addressed criticisms leveled at the car previously.
Upon launch, the BRZ’s 2.0-litre naturally aspirated boxer engine was the victim of a hefty torque dip in its mid-range, though the new generation’s 2.4-litre engine quelled concerns.
While not as popular in terms of sales as its Toyota twin, the two cars are practically identical.
