Haval’s sporty H6 GT has landed in South Africa in one specification alongside a price tag of R629,950.
Available in Super Luxury trim only, the SUV brings a long list of features to go with its daring new looks and uprated engine.
Differentiated from the standard H6 with a 74mm-longer coupe body style, the GT sees the addition of aerodynamic side skirts, model-specific front and rear bumpers, carbon fibre accents, a roof-mounted spoiler, and 19-inch gloss-black wheels lending it a more aggressive design.
As part of its flagship status it also gets a raft of standard amenities including a panoramic sunroof, artificial leather upholstery with Alcantara inserts and green highlights, electric and heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a heads-up display, a wireless charger, a 10.25-inch driver’s display, a 12.3-inch infotainment unit, and no fewer than seven advanced driver assist systems.
Under the hood, power is derived from a 2.0-litre, turbo-petrol block producing 155kW and 325Nm – 5kW and 5Nm more than the standard SUV.
This is sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic gearbox, though Haval has not yet revealed the 0-100km/h acceleration or top speed of its athletic-looking GT. Average fuel consumption, meanwhile, is quoted at 8.4l/100km.
Sporty SUVs
There are several sporty SUVs available in South Africa for roughly the same price as Haval’s new offering, making for a tough market to enter.
Car buyers with their eye on an H6 GT will also be able to choose from a variety of other models and manufacturers, as found below.
