According to the automotive blog, the two units of the H6 appear to be spotted at the Tapah R&R rest area and both units have different front designs. The unit with a more revealing front grille looks like the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the Haval H6 which made its global debut at the 2021 Thai Motor Expo.

That said, the H6 PHEV isn’t launched in Thailand yet but the Joker-esque grille has made its way on the hybrid (HEV) version in markets like Australia. A turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine powers the HEV and PHEV but the latter has a much higher combined system output (330 PS/530 Nm) than the former (243 PS/530 Nm).

Though the H6 is only available in the Kingdom with a hybrid powertrain, it could be likely that the Malaysian unit could see at least one petrol variant being offered. Depending on the market, the H6 is also powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine (169 PS/280 Nm) or a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit (204 PS/320 Nm).
Is this the EV that will revolutionise Malaysia?
Haval’s parent company, Great Wall Motors (GWM) is eyeing a sort of comeback in Malaysia. Besides the H6, GWM could offer the , which could be renamed the , and the which has been spotted in Malaysia in right-hand drive (RHD).
