Like the of the 2022 Geely Boyue, its exterior is cladded with heavy camouflage so there’s not much to go on, save for the repositioned side mirrors that was pointed out in a previous post.
Moving to the interior, there’s a massive portrait screen taking centre stage. This is not unlike the screens in the Tesla Model S or the recent Mercedes-Benzes like the and . The gear lever appears to be similar to the one used in the flagship .
Apart from those, the rest of the interior is well-disguised.
The all-new 2022 Geely Boyue will be underpinned by the CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform used by the and .
Powertrain options are unknown for now, but the company has a range of 1.5- and 2.0-litre engines at their disposal that could find their way into this SUV. We can expect electrification as well in the form of mild hybrid (MHEV) or plug-in hybrid (PHEV).

Coming to Malaysia as the Proton X70?
Closer to home, the , which is based on the current-generation Geely Boyue, just had a refresh with a new . So we’re expecting the current-generation Proton X70 to soldier on in the upcoming years, perhaps until 2025 or so.
But seeing that Malaysia’s Proton X70 is based on the Geely Boyue, it is only a matter of time before the second-generation Proton X70 is offered in Malaysia.
