Same delicious Porsche exterior, same purposeful interior, but with forced induction and 510 hp.
Singer- Singer started out reimagining the naturally aspirated 964 911 and has now branched out to work its magic on the Turbo.
- This car is the second “Turbo Study” we’ve seen, done up in Turbo Racing White.
- No price was listed but previous Singers were generally over a half-million bucks.
Singer Vehicle Design started reimagining the naturally aspirated 1989-‘94 964-era Porsche 911 more than ten years ago, elevating that car’s character in ways even longtime Porschephiles couldn’t have imagined. Yet there it sat, better in every way than the 911 that came out of Zuffenhausen 30 years before. The cars looked better, drove better, and sold for way more money than Porsche could have gotten for an original, even with that carmaker’s notorious and lengthy options list. Singers sell for well over a half-million bucks, we’re told.
Are they worth it? Heck yeah! Just ask anyone who’s ever driven one, or most people who have only looked at them. They are delicious.
A side-Singer.
Singer
Singer branched out to make all-road offroad 911s last year, then started looking at turbocharged models earlier this year. The first turbo was called “Singer Turbo Study,” and it looked good enough to eat. Or at least drive.
Now Singer has released photos of a second Turbo Study in Turbo Racing White. Each Singer is done to customer specifications, assuming Singer founder and chief of meticulousness Rob Dickinson approves. This customer requested “a sports focus.” Specifically:
- 3.8L twin turbocharged air-cooled flat-six with air-to-water intercooling
- Power increase to 510 hp
- Center-mounted fuel filler
- Sports-calibrated suspension with reduction in ride height
- Carbon-ceramic braking system
- Visual carbon-fiber elements for front splitter, shark-fin intake and whale tail spoiler
- Rear bumperette delete
- Interior presented in bespoke houndstooth ‘Grun’ cloth, with visual carbon-fiber accents
- Lightweight carbon-fiber seats
- Rear cross-brace, lightweight door trims, and painted interior surfaces
- Lightweight carbon-fiber bodywork in Turbo Racing White
No price was listed but we can assume it was hefty. And yes, like all the others, this one is surely worth it.
