Take one of England’s most impressive households in Blenheim Palace, host a lavish garden party, but then invite a series of the world’s most impressive automobiles as guests. Salon Privé is a truly unique event where guests freely explore incredible machines in a relaxed social atmosphere. This year Salon Privé will present the new Koenigsegg Gemera to the UK for the first time.
The Gemera is a fascinating supercar for many reasons, not least because this 1,700bhp machine seats four. Within its sleek aerodynamic profile is seating for four adults, something inspired by Christian von Koenigsegg’s desire to share his high performance machines with the family. It retains its signature doors, but they now reveal surprisingly spacious cabin.
Its supercar credentials are fuelled by a new hybrid powertrain that consists of a 2.0-litre three-cylinder engine that produces an incredible 600bhp and 443lb ft of torque. Three electric motors join the party for a total output of 1,700bhp! This ‘family car’ can cover 0-62mph in just 1.9 seconds as a result of its impressive engineering. Top speed? Koenigsegg thinks it will clock 250mph.
Salon Privé, along with just about every other event, was disrupted by COVID-19. Its postponed dates pushed the event back into late September, but its regal plans remain the same. Over four days this fascinating show will judge one of the world’s most prestigious concourse events, invite some of the best dressed women on Ladies Day, and celebrate the evolution of the supercar. There really isn’t another event like it.
The Koenigsegg Gemera was set to make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show this year, however, corona virus cancelled the event at the last minute. Salone Privé will not only mark the first time the car has been publicly shown in the UK, but also one of the first times it has been freely viewed in the world.
We can’t wait to take a closer look at the Gemera over 23rd – 26th September 2020, a supercar like no other.
