Robert Downey Jr. is known for advocating sustainable solutions. However, he is also a huge car lover. The Iron Man actor is going on a new journey combining his passions. He wants to save the planet and keep his cars. In a new show for HBO Max, he will make classic vintage cars more eco-friendly. The new show is called – Downey’s Dream Cars. It will be available on the streaming platform on June 22. The new trailer offers a cool look at the modifications attempted by the actor who played is known for being Tony Stark.

Robert Downey Jr Makes His Classic Cars Greener

As you can see in the above video, the new TV series will follow Robert Downey Jr. and his associates as they convert the actors’ huge car collections into more efficient and eco-friendly machines. The Iron Man actor mostly owns classic American cars from the 1960s and 1970s. Downey and his team will turn his old cars into hybrids and electric cars. This includes a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. He can be seen having multiple banters with his engineers and mechanics.

“We are what we drive, and having amassed a formidable collection of classic cars over the years, I was a petrol-spewing mess. And a hypocrite, as I’d founded the Footprint Coalition in 2019 to scale technologies that mitigate climate change. Fortunately, I’m a bit of a dreamer. The last 3 years have been an experiment in hope, as I engaged the best and brightest minds to evaluate, educate, elevate, and decarbonize these vehicles in a way that demonstrates the limitless potential of creative problem-solving,” said Robert Downey Jr. Downey in an official press release.

HBO Max Release Next Month

Downey’s Dream Cars will premiere on HBO Max next month. It is co-produced by Robert Downey Jr. and Boat Rocker’s Matador Content. Jay Peterson, Todd Lubin, and Dave Larzelere act as Executive producers for Matador Content. Kyle Wheeler serves as an executive producer from Discovery. The Iron Man star’s crew includes Emily Barclay Ford. The trailer comes with a tagline – “What we are doing here, nobody’s ever done before.” It might turn out to be inspirational or controversial when it airs. Robert Downey Jr. has pledged to give away a sizeable chunk of his car collection to support climate change initiatives.
