French car-maker adds tough-looking limited-edition variant to its mid-size SUV line-up
The Renault Koleos Black Edition will return as a strictly limited variant that’s set to join the French medium SUV range for MY22.
Fitted with a stealthy blacked-out exterior, just 400 examples of the Renault Koleos Black Edition are available, wedging in between the mid-spec Zen (from $37,390) and top-spec Intens 4×2 (from $43,890) in terms of pricing, at $42,000 drive-away or $40,090 plus on-road costs.
Power for the special-edition model comes from the same 126kW 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and continuously variable transmission (CVT) used across the entire Koleos range.
Special features include 19-inch dark-grey alloy wheels, gloss-black roof rails and door mirrors, side steps, ‘Limited’ badging, French flags on the B-pillar and an electric tailgate.
And, instead of having to fork out $800, buyers can select from Black, Grey or Universal White metallic colour options at no extra cost when purchasing the Koleos Black Edition.
Inside, the ‘Limited’ badging extends to the chrome door sills, while black leather-appointed upholstery is finished with contrasting yellow stitching and the larger 8.7-inch portrait style infotainment unit usually reserved for the Intens is also fitted, instead of the smaller 7.0-inch unit.
Elsewhere, Renault Australia has announced a new Easy Life Package that’s now available for the mid-spec Koleos Zen.
Adding another $2000 to the invoice, the package brings convenience features including an electric tailgate and the brand’s larger 8.7-inch touch-screen display.
