Renault Australia has increased the list prices of the majority of its models by up to $1200, citing material costs increases and shipping.
The Renault models included in this particular price rise comprise the Captur, Arkana, Koleos, Megane R.S., Trafic, and Master.
Only the top-spec Renault Captur R.S. Line and the limited-edition Megane R.S. Ultimae have remained the same price.
The vehicle with the smallest price rise was the mid-spec Arkana Intens, which is up $200. This mean it’s now priced at $41,000 before on-road costs.
Captur
The largest price rise on the other hand affects the Captur Life and Zen, as well as the Megane R.S. Trophy. These models’ prices have been increased by $1200.
A spokesperson for Renault Australia distributor Ateco has confirmed there has been some specification tweaks for 2023 that coincide with the price increase.
The Renault Captur is now available with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on all variants, as well as a lane centring function on Intens and R.S. Line models.
Despite the added features, the 2023 Renault Captur doesn’t have a plastic cover for the tailgate latch, nor soft-touch upper door panels on Intens and R.S. Line models.
Megane R.S.
The gear knob in the Captur is now finished in leatherette rather than leather too.
The 2023 Renault Megane R.S., like the Captur, gains wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in its final season.
All versions of the 2023 Renault Master now come with autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with car-to-car detection.
All Master Van and Bus variants come with blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and automatic high-beam as standard. These feature were once in the optional Convenience pack.
Arkana
Lastly, all Master Van and Bus automatic variants now have rear parking sensors as standard. They are already standard on all the manual variants.
Renault isn’t alone in raising the prices on the majority of its range. Many brands, including Volvo, Toyota, Kia, BMW, Volkswagen, and Audi announced almost range-wide price increases at the start of the year.
Renault Australia recently delayed the launch of the new Kangoo to the third quarter of this year. It was originally set to launch early in 2023.
It will be followed by the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric, set to arrive in the fourth quarter of 2023 with a base price above $70,000 before on-road costs.
