Heritage is an important aspect of garnering potential sales for automakers. Building on fond memories and bygone times, foregone models from yesteryear still play a crucial part in the future of storied firms.
Renault is one such automaker that is capitalising on its illustrious history. The latest to bring honour to their name is the Renault 4ever Trophy and while it is an electrified concept, it ticks all the right boxes for a tastefully modernised version of its antecedent.
The French model becomes the second in a series of months that has debuted with retro inspiration and electrified power. The first of which is a bonkers track toy bearing the same overall proportions and shape as the Renault 5.
The newcomer may be more dumbed down but it serves its adventuring purpose with a raft of design decisions and accessories that could make it capable of traversing any terrain. The specific derivative on display in Paris is an ode to the 4L Trophy humanitarian rally that traversed the vast expanses of the Moroccan desert in decades gone by. 2023 will signal the 25th anniversary of the annual event which is exclusively reserved for the utilitarian Renault 4.

Finished in Gun Metal Silver and sitting on chunky tyres that conceal 19-inch rims, there is no shortage of excitement on any facade of the 4ever Trophy model Renault has debuted. A roof-mounted spare tyre on a carbon rack, bulky side sills, underfloor armour, fender arches and off-roading equipment perceive the high-riding EV to be capable on the Moroccan dunes.
Speaking of which, the model boasts a modest motor that puts out 100 kW courtesy of a 42 kWh battery pack between the axles. It doesn’t sound like much, but the model can go 402 km between charges.
Fortunately, the 4ever Trophy Concept will see the light of day since the French manufacturer is planning on selling it from 2025 onwards. The model displayed at the Paris Motor Show is a future production model so a few details may change and it may lose some of its cool running gear and accessories, but the fundamental retro design should remain.

Since the electrified Renault 5 model is intended to serve as a zero-emissions version of the venerable Clio supermini, this 4ever Trophy concept will likely slot in as a silent alternative to the Captur subcompact crossover.
