Mercedes-Benz Australia has issued a slew of fresh recall notices spanning a total of 52,638 vehicles across multiple model lines.
The largest single recall comprises 18,331 units of the 2012-2018 Mercedes-Benz ML and GLE SUVs, which the car-maker says may encounter fuel pump problems.
Specifically, a manufacturing defect could cause water to come into contact with the fuel pump control unit, which could impair fuel supply to the engine and cause a subsequent loss of power whilst driving.
In a separate recall notice, 2015-2023 examples of the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe are affected by the same issue.

Elsewhere, sunroof-related dramas for more than 30,000 Mercedes-Benz vehicles have resulted in the luxury car-maker issuing three separate safety notices for several models.
Those include earlier Mercedes-Benz C-Class models – built between 2001-2010 (Model 203.7 with code 413 panoramic glass sliding roof) – along with 2000-2010 CLC (model code 203), CLK (model code 209), E-Class (model code 211) and CLS (model code 219) models.
Benz says a manufacturing defect could mean the sliding sunroof panel and frame may not have been bonded correctly, which could result in the sunroof panel detaching from the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury or death to road users.
While the defect is the same across all three safety notices, Mercedes-Benz says work instructions and checks differ between the recalls.
Affected owners will be contacted by the manufacturer to organise free rectification.

Meanwhile, a potentially faulty fuel filter drainpipe in several examples of the Mercedes-Benz V-Class and Vito van range has resulted in 372 units being called back to the workshop.
Models affected include those built in 2022 (model series 447) and fitted with a four-cylinder diesel engine.
According to the safety notice, a manufacturing defect could cause the fuel filter drainpipe to come in contact with the underfloor panel, and chafe whilst driving.
“This could result in a diesel fuel leak and cause a noticeable fuel odour,” the company said.

Jaguar Land Rover has also recalled multiple models due to a fire risk, with 205 examples of its Land Rover Discovery and Defender, along with its Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Velar, affected.
These includes examples built between 2022-2023 (plated MY23 and MY24), with JLR saying a manufacturing issue with the camshaft carrier oil gallery could cause an oil leak.
“This could cause an external oil leak or oil to be discharged into the engine air intake system,” the company said. “An oil leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a vehicle fire.”
