The previous-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee is being called back to the workshop yet again, this time with more than 43,000 cars affected by a potentially faulty fuel pump.
A total of 43,396 examples of the WK-series Jeep Grand Cherokee are impacted by the safety recall notice, including those built from 2011 through to 2022, all fitted with the US brand’s 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine.
According to the recall notice submitted by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Australia, a manufacturing defect could cause the high-pressure fuel pump to fail prematurely and “introduce failed component debris into the fuel system”.

“This could impair the fuel supply to the engine and result in a loss of power whilst driving,” the company said in the notice.
Replacement parts are currently unavailable, however FCA says it will contact affected owners once the parts reach its dealer network to organise free repair/replacement.

Peugeot 3008 Plug-in Hybrid
Peugeot Australia has announced two nationwide recalls that affect a total of 214 plug-in hybrid models.
The first safety notice covers 108 examples of the French brand’s top-spec Peugeot 3008 GT Sport SUV and the 508 Fastback sedan, each built between 2021-2022 and fitted with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain.
Peugeot says an error within the vehicles’ battery management system software programming could cause the high-voltage battery to overheat and/or emit smoke.
“If left unrepaired, this may result in a potential battery or vehicle fire whilst the vehicle is being recharged and/or in use,” the company said.

Peugeot’s second recall notice affects 106 examples of the same PHEV models, with the car-maker acknowledging that certain vehicles may not have had the high-voltage battery reinforcing plate fitted, or the battery cover coated with protective wax.
If water intrudes, there is a risk of perforation or corrosion of the battery reinforcing plate/battery cover over the life of the vehicle, which could increase the risk of a vehicle fire occurring.

British luxury marque Bentley has also issued a recall for the Bentley Flying Spur, with 36 examples (2021-2022 models) of the limousine impacted by a potentially faulty installation of the rear entertainment screens.
Bentley says the bracket securing the entertainment screens to the rear of the front seats may have been incorrectly installed.
“In the event of an accident, the incorrectly mounted brackets may not restrain the devices as designed,” the car-maker said in the notice.
Bentley says owners can remove the screens from the vehicle and store them safely until they visit an official retailer to have their vehicle inspected and repaired, if necessary.
