November’s buzzword is the , and after our initial spotting of a camouflaged unit we now have some preliminary facts and figures of the battery-electric (BEV) SUV in Malaysia, thanks to our sources close to the matter.
Two variants will be offered; the Standard and the Extended range. The Standard range will approximately start from RM 150k, while the Extended is said to be priced from RM 170k. These are still not set in stone just yet, so do account for slight differences in their final pricing.
Specs-wise, the Standard boasts 410 km range, while the Extended bumps that up to 480 km, both per the NEDC test cycle. These means the Malaysian-market Atto 3 will have two Blade LFP (lithium iron phospate) battery options – 49.92 kWh and 60.48 kWh.
But of course, the extra prices doesn’t just translate to purely increased range. What we know is that the Standard BYD Atto 3 will pack 17 inch wheels, 6 speakers, and single-colour ambient lighting.
Meanwhile, the Extended range will bump things up with 18-inch rolling stock, 8 speakers, and multi-coloured LED ambient lighting inside. This variant also adds a powered tailgate, and wireless charging.

Five colour options makes up the available palette to buyers, and all models will be fully-imported from (CBU) China, at least for the time being.
Pre-booking is now open (you can contact the company’s social media page here), ahead of the model’s launch that’s tentatively taking place in the second week of December.
Oh, and waiting lists? The official we spoke to says deliveries can commence by Q1 2023.
