The second IndyCar practice session took place on Saturday morning from Portland International Raceway, and drivers were greeted with cool and cloudy conditions typical of the West Coast.
The fastest driver was the current championship leader Will Power, who lapped the course in 58.395 seconds
Narrowly behind was his two speedy team-mates Josef Newgarden and Scott McLaughlin, who set the second and third fastest times respectively.
There was only 0.014 seconds separating the top two spots, setting up an intriguing qualifying session later in the day.
There were not nearly the issues that the first practice session had, and drivers were treated to 45 interruption-free minutes.

Track conditions were much cooler than they were on Friday, and indeed were much cooler than are expected for both qualifying and the race later in the weekend.
That didn’t stop everyone from setting as many laps as possible, however, as over 600 laps were turned by the 25-car field.
Callum Ilott was the top-positioned rookie in the session, ending the morning with the ninth fastest lap on the timesheet.
Pato O’Ward was just behind in 10th after recovering from his issues that prevented him from finishing the first practice session the day before.
His team-mate Felix Rosenqvist was uncharacteristically off the pace in his #7 Arrow McLaren SP Chevy, and was only manage to set the 21st fastest time.
Another driver that was a bit off the pace was Marcus Ericsson who finished in the bottom half of the results, but nobody is counting out the Sneaky Swede for qualifying.
A full knockout qualifying session is next on the docket, and will take place in two hours’ time at noon Pacific Time, 3:00 PM Eastern.
