A sizable population of Porsche vehicles are being recalled following an issue with missing screw covers. More than 193,000 SUVs and sports cars are affected.
The German luxury brand’s latest recall affects model-year 2003-20 Macan and Cayenne SUVs, Panamera hatchbacks and Cayman S sports cars. The caps that cover the low-beam headlight horizontal adjustment screws are missing, which can allow the headlights to be improperly adjusted. That may cause the headlights to not illuminate properly or cause glare to oncoming vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.
To resolve the issue, dealers will inspect the headlights for sealing caps and install them, as necessary, for free. Porsche will begin notifying owners Oct. 29. Those with additional questions can call the brand at 800-767-7243 (Porsche’s number for this recall is ANB4), or visit NHTSA’s website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
