The new Mahindra XUV700 has landed in South Africa and is scheduled to go on sale in the coming weeks.
This new SUV is available in three trim levels, with local pricing as follows:
- Mahindra XUV700 AX5 – R474,999
- Mahindra XUV700 AX7 – R524,999
- Mahindra XUV700 AX7 L – R559,999
Regardless of the version chosen, the revised Mahindra comes with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates up to 149kW and 380Nm mated with a six-speed automatic gearbox transmitting power to the front wheels, the end result being a combined fuel consumption of 6.6l/100km.
For the exterior, the 700 sports the brand’s new Twin Peaks logo, LED headlamps and daytime running lights, and diamond-cut alloy wheels of up to 18 inches depending on the trim level.
As for features, the most notable addition is a new dual-screen adoring the dashboard, made up of two 26cm HD monitors for the infotainment and driver display.
This system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and other standard equipment comprises a panoramic sunroof and six speakers.
The mid-range AX7 will then get you a leatherette upholstery, keyless start, a six-way electronically adjustable driver’s seat, reverse camera, rain-sensing wipers, and dual-zone climate control.
It will also add driver aids in the form of adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, driver alert monitoring, and forward collision warnings with automatic emergency braking.
The top-spec AX7 L, meanwhile, will throw in a 12-speaker Sony sound system, 360-degree camera system, blind-spot monitoring, a wireless phone charger, keyless entry, and stop-and-go functions for the adaptive cruise control.
