Finding a reliable car workshop to fix and maintain your vehicle is not an easy task. Here are some recommended workshops for you!

When it comes to car workshop, most Singaporeans would prefer one that is not only value for money, but also reliable. After all, you are entrusting your high-ticket purchase to the responsibility of a stranger.

The last thing any car owner would want is for the mechanic to give your vehicle a wrong diagnosis, or take advantage on your lack of technical knowledge to swindle your hard-earned money!

When it comes to finding a workshop, some vehicle owners in Singapore would prefer to turn their attention across the Causeway to take advantage of the currency difference.

Most of us might be familiar with the workshops along KSL City Mall. In fact, you can see a host of Singapore cars along that stretch. However, these workshops are not the only workshops that Singaporeans patronize.

In this article, we’ll explore a list of car workshops in Johor Bahru. We categorized them mainly into four segments: auto services, bodywork, tyres, as well as air conditioning and accessories.

Let’s have a look:

Auto Services

1) Jet Cheng Auto Service

Jet Cheng Auto Service is a family owned business operated by a father and son team specializing in Honda vehicles. However, you can find other vehicular brands within the workshop as well.

It is located within a 15-minutes drive from the Aeon Bukit Indah Megamall. This provides plenty of downtime for you to do some shopping while you’re across the Causeway!

Services range from simple tasks such as engine oil change, to even replacing shock absorbers or engine mountings.

Apart from having a respectable 4.1/5 star rating with 15 reviews at the time of writing, Jet Cheng also has a Facebook page and WhatsApp for customers to seek queries.

We’ll recommend booking an appointment and planning ahead to avoid any disappointments.

Perhaps one of the more reputable workshops in JB, Autobacs has an average rating of 4 out of 5 stars, along with 151 reviews at the time of writing.

Autobacs is known to be Japan’s pioneering automotive retail and service brand, with the first store opening in 1974 in Osaka, Japan.

Autobacs has a few outlets across Malaysia, and this success can perhaps be a testament to their craftsmanship. They also have two outlets in Singapore in Ubi and Bukit Batok.

They provide a wide spectrum of car services that range from general repairs to tyre changes. They also provide accessory installation for your vehicle.

Unlike most of the other smaller workshops in Malaysia, Autobacs has its own Website and Facebook page, which adds to its convenience and reliability. However, the drawback is that it is located relatively far away from the Woodlands Checkpoint.

Autobacs is located within the proximity to IKEA, and is also near Taman Mount Austin, a popular hangout spot for Singaporeans.

Autobacs is open from Monday to Sunday from 11am to 9pm. This surely accommodates to your busy schedule. As usual, remember to schedule an appointment to avoid a wasted trip!
