Peugeot Inception concept car: next-gen EV
Peugeot e-208: current EV stack will be upgraded
► New Peugeot Inception show car ► Due at the 2023 CES gadget show
► Ushers in next-era EV architecture
The new Peugeot Inception concept car will be shown at next spring’s CES electronics show in Las Vegas, the Paris-based car maker has confirmed. No pictures yet of the actual car yet, but the company has confirmed the name.
The car will introduce the brand’s next-generation electric platform – key to reformatting the layout of the next suite of electric vehicles (EVs) to be launched by Peugeot.
‘The lion brand is taking advantage of “BEV-by-design” next-generation electric platforms to turn the entire automotive experience upside down,’ it claims in a statement ahead of its world debut on 5 January 2023. Well, they would say that, wouldn’t they? But it does sound like this is a concept car to watch out for.
Tellingly, Peugeot is calling 2023 ‘an electric year’, suggesting that most new debuts from the Stellantis brand will be electrified.
The significance of the Peugeot Inception concept car
The company pledges that the new show car at CES will ‘completely redesign the interior space, reinterpret driving gestures around the new generation Peugeot i-Cockpit and create new digital and physical experiences.’
Expect a step change from the current tech underpinning Peugeot’s existing electric cars, such as the e-208 (above).
Look out also for how it ‘transforms the brand’s design language, while bolstering its most typical features – a feline stance and luminous three-claw signatures.’
So far, so much PR spiel. Stay tuned for more actual news, as we get it.
