Unfortunately, these new updates don’t feature the biggest feature that most owners are asking for – proper car connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Still, if you want to keep your X50’s infotainment system up to date, you can follow these 7 simple steps.
First, click [Settings], followed by [System].
Once there, you will see “Update available” if the OTA update is ready for your vehicle. Click [GKUI 19] to continue.
After that, click [Speed first] to start downloading the new infotainment head unit software.
Once the software has completed downloading, click [Install].
Next, click [Sure] to continue after reading and understanding the pop-up reminder. Make sure to keep the engine on during this process and stay in a safe zone to ensure your safety. Switching off the engine while performing the software update may affect the system’s function.
The infotainment unit will also not be operational while it is being updated. It will take approximately 10-15 minutes for the installation and updates to complete.
Finally, the infotainment system will restart automatically once the new software update is complete.
