2022 was a big year for carsales content, especially in the audio realm. We embarked on an audio journey with our friends at LiSTNR to create new, uniquely carsales podcast series that talk about all things cars, journeys, ownership and the future of motoring.
Whether it was debunking myths in the new and exciting world of electric cars in Watts Under the Bonnet, going into depth about our favourite new releases in The Showroom and hitting the road with some famous friends in Along for the Ride, these podcasts had it all.
So here are our five favourite moments from carsales podcasts in 2022.
5. The hardcore testing for the new Ford Ranger Raptor
On the premiere episode of The Showroom, Rusty and carsales Senior Editor Sam Charlwood got the inside word from Justin Capicchiano, Ford Performance and Special Vehicle Programs Manager all about the all-new Ford Ranger Raptor and found out why it was not destined for a V8 engine.
4. The first off-road 4×4 electric Jeep
What could be more true to the Aussie experience than a bit of bush-bashing off the beaten track, but can EVs cut the mustard when it comes to off-road driving? That was the question Nadine and Rusty posed to Ralph Gilles, head of design at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, who helped design the first off-road 4×4 electric Jeep that might just crawl better than its ICE counterpart.
3. Getting giddy about the high-performance street-legal Porsche 911 GT3 RS
Rusty was joined by none other than the big boss himself – Editor-in-Chief of carsales, Mike Sinclair. The 911 GT3 RS launch had Rusty and Mike smitten with the high-performance street-legal vehicle, talking aerodynamics and engineering with Daniel Schmollinger, Managing Director and CEO of Porsche Cars Australia.
2. Grant Denyer’s chat about his car history and rise to fame
Being one of the country’s most recognisable faces on Aussie television certainly comes with its perks, but it’s not all sunshine and roses according to Grant Denyer. Grant looks back to his childhood where his need for speed may have gotten him in a bit of trouble if it didn’t land him a gig reporting motorsport first.
From his greatest accomplishments in media, a devastating injury that nearly took him off-air forever and protecting his family at all costs, Grant holds nothing back.
1. Enjoying the love Osher Günsberg has for his EV
Osher Günsberg is arguably Australia’s first EV advocate and joined Rusty and Nadine to talk charging, making the switch to an EV and why he prefers electric power over the petrol pump.
