The Dodge Challenger and Charger will be no more after the 2023 model year — at least as internal-combustion-engined vehicles — but Dodge is giving the muscle cars a fitting send-off with a series of seven “Last Call” special editions. The first of the series to be revealed, the Challenger Shakedown is limited to 1,000 units — 500 each for regular and Widebody variants — and is a production version of the Challenger Shakedown concept that appeared at the 2016 Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association Show.

The production Challenger Shakedown uses the R/T Scat Pack as its foundation. It comes equipped with the optional Plus and Technology groups, as well as the Navigation, Carbon/Suede and Dynamics packages. Regular-width models are painted Destroyer Grey, while the Widebody version will be Pitch Black.
Beyond a host of R/T Scat Pack options, the Challenger Shakedown will come equipped with the iconic Shaker hood and intake, six-piston Brembo-brand brakes and 20-inch wheels. Widebody versions will use the Carbon Black Warp Speed style of wheels, while the regular body variant will get the Low Gloss Black Slingshot style.
A number of graphics and badges will help identify the special edition, including red “392” graphics on the fenders, a “Shaker” decal under the hood, a unique “Shakedown” stripe with a red accent running from hood to tail, black Challenger badging, unique R/T badging on the grille and a “Shakedown” graphic on the rear spoiler. Like every 2023 Challenger and Charger, the Challenger Shakedown also gets a “Last Call” commemorative plaque under the hood.
Inside, the Challenger Shakedown gets premium Nappa leather and Alcantara upholstery with red accent stitching throughout the cabin, Demonic Red seat belts and a unique “Shakedown” badge on the instrument panel.
The 2023 Challenger Shakedown will be available in the spring of 2023, with pricing available closer to when orders open in the fall. All 1,000 models, like every 2023 Challenger and Charger, will be allocated to specific dealerships. Interested buyers can use DodgeGarage.com to locate their desired model and then contact the dealerships to arrange their purchase.
