Nissan is teasing a couple of new electric vehicles as it announces a planned spend of US$500 million to upgrade its Canton, Mississippi plant into “a center for U.S. EV production.”
The Korean brand says it will begin production of two new vehicles, one Nissan and one Infiniti, in 2025 at the plant, which currently produces the Frontier, Altima, Titan, and Titan XD.
Both of the unnamed cars appear to be sedan-shaped, in the intentionally filtered teaser images and video released, but it wouldn’t be shocking to learn there was a fifth door – or the option for one – behind that digital smoke. #HopeForHatch

Also based off the teasers, the vehicles appear similar in silhouette and light signature, each bearing full-width tail lights and headlight features. No word on a new platform has been spoken, so it’s probable that the cars will ride on one of Nissan’s existing EV platforms.
The investment will preserve and “upskill” around 2,000 jobs at the Canton plant, and is a step toward Nissan’s Ambition 2030 goal of having 23 electrified vehicles, including 15 full EVs, under the Nissan and Infiniti umbrellas by 2030.
