At long last the pricing for the next-gen Ford Ranger has finally been revealed alongside a bombshell of new information, giving local motorists all they need to know before the first models arrive in dealerships across the country in the next two weeks.
At launch, the bakkie will only be available as a double cab, with single-cab variants expected to go on sale early next year along with the launch of the new halo-model Raptor.
This means there will be 13 different derivatives to choose from at launch, with pricing as follows:

Each purchase includes a 4-year/120,000km warranty and a 4-year/unlimited kilometre roadside assistance plan.
The first Ranger customers are expected to take ownership of their new cars before the end of the year, and over 4,000 pre-orders have already been recorded, said the company.
Engines
Headlining the bakkie’s launch is a new 3.0-litre, V6, turbo-diesel drivetrain with 184kW and 600Nm, which is exclusively available on the range-topping Wildtrak.
The remaining powerplants take the form of a 2.0-litre engine in either a single or bi-turbo diesel configuration, with a rated power output of 125kW and 405Nm, or 154kW and 500Nm, respectively.
For the gearbox, the entry-level models are now being offered with a new six-speed manual in addition to a six-speed automatic, and further up the range the XLT and Wildtrak entries are equipped with a 10-speed auto.
Each trim level will also be made available in a 4×2 or 4×4 layout, with the latter consisting of either a shift-on-the-fly system on the 2.0-litre units while the Wildtrak will have advanced permanent all-wheel-drive configuration.
The new Ranger further boasts a maximum towing capacity of 3,500kg while its larger load box is now able to accommodate 1,186kg. It also has a maximum water wading depth of 800mm as well as improved approach and departure angles measuring 30 and 23 degrees, respectively.
Features
Starting with the entry-level workhorse, buyers can expect vinyl upholstery, climate control, 16-inch steel rims with all-season tyres, an 8-inch driver display, 10-inch vertical infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four speakers, a multifunction steering wheel, and hill assist.
The XL models then add to this with 16-inch alloys, cloth seats, and a lockable rear differential.
Higher up is the XLT, which throws in C-shaped LED headlamps and daytime running lights, chrome finishes, side steps, a spray-in bedliner, six-way manually adjustable seats, a leather gearshift, keyless start and entry, six speakers, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control with a speed limiter, front and rear parking sensors, and selectable driving modes comprising Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Mud, and Sand.
The top-of-the-line Wildtrak, meanwhile, gets 18-inch alloys, eight-way electronically adjustable front seats, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, a 12-inch media screen, a Bang and Olufsen sound system with 10 speakers, a 360-degree camera, active park assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, pre-collision assist, and autonomous emergency braking.
Every model in Ford’s line-up will also be available with a wide selection of upgrade packages that can be selected at ordering stage, said the blue oval.
