The Driven Project is a non-profit organisation that has been running its Supercar Therapy program to provide sick kids with an escape from reality, generating a boost to help them stay strong throughout their battles, and create memories they will cherish forever.
The private event was the first ever Driven Project event outside of North America after dozens of similar but unique events for 1,000+ kids. To help bring the event to life, the Driven Project partnered with Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation, the Western Australia Police Force, Kim Ledger’s Driver Risk Management and Laurence Escalante’s The Lee Collection.
Driven Project Founder, Kevin Gordon told carsales that the goal of the Driven Project is a simple one, to provide remarkable kids going through unimaginable difficulties with one of the best days of their lives.
“As we’ve seen time and time again over the past five years, giving these kids an often once-in-a-lifetime experience like driving in an amazing supercar as part of a day out with other kids and their families produces invaluable outcomes, such as improved mental health. I am beyond excited to be able to bring this to Perth as part of our global expansion plans.
“The kids got to spend the day being kids – laughing, playing, eating, making new friends. It was non-stop smiles, and amazing memories made at every turn. The kids always gravitate towards the loudest cars with the brightest colours. They generally don’t have a preference on brand or model – as long as it “looks cool and goes fast” they are happy campers.”

Carrick Robinson, CEO of Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation said that the foundation was thrilled to partner with the Driven Project to make their 12 VIP kids feel like a million dollars for the day.
“Delivering positive patient experiences to kids undergoing treatment at Perth Children’s Hospital helps to bring moments of joy to both patients and their families. This can help to lessen anxiety and create positive memories, as well as enhancing confidence and happiness.”
Gordon also stated that the goal is to continue the event ongoing with a secondary event in Perth either later this year, or early next. There are also plans to branch out into other parts of the county with the addition of a major event on the Gold Coast.
“Anyone can nominate a child who they believe would benefit from some supercar therapy on our website, at drivenproject.com… if organizations are interested in partnering with Driven Project or sponsoring an event, they can reach out to us through our website, or social media as well.”
