Designed with dynamic upgrades to enhance its off-roading capabilities, the Ford Ranger Wildtrak X seeks to bridge the gap between the regular Wildtrak and the powerful Raptor. Ford promises an exceptional off-road experience, with wider tracks and an additional 26 mm of ground clearance compared to the standard Wildtrak, ensuring drivers can conquer challenging terrains with confidence and ease.
Doreen Mashinini, General Manager for Marketing at Ford South Africa, expresses her enthusiasm for the Ranger Wildtrak X’s launch: “The Ranger Wildtrak range has been immensely popular in South Africa for more than a decade, thanks to its trend-setting style, unrivalled status, innovative driver assistance technologies, and exceptional performance. NAMPO and Ford South Africa have a longstanding and proud history and we’re thrilled to unveil the Wildtrak X at this year’s event, igniting the passion of customers who embrace an active, outdoor lifestyle”.

Under the metal, the expected Ranger is equipped with Ford’s robust and efficient 2,0-litre four-cylinder Bi-Turbo diesel engine, delivering a formidable 154 kW of power and an impressive 500 Nm of torque. This proven motor is seamlessly paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, ensuring smooth and precise shifts for an exhilarating driving experience.
What sets the Wildtrak X apart is its distinction as the first Ranger 2.0-liter Bi-Turbo model to feature Ford’s on-demand four-wheel drive system. With four modes available – 4A (automatic), 2H, 4H, and 4L – drivers can effortlessly adapt to various road conditions, whether it be cruising on highways, traversing rough terrains, or tackling challenging off-road trails.
