Niche EV automaker Polestar announced a second limited-edition version of its Polestar 2 electric fastback late March, the BST Edition 230. It’s much related, of course, to Polestar’s last limited-edition 2, the BST Edition 270, but what’s different lies in a drill-down of performance and design specifics.
“Limited drops like the BST Edition 230 allow us to explore colours, graphics, and materials in faster and more creative ways,” is how Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO, puts it.
To start, it’s driven by the same powerplant, with 476 hp (350 kW) and 502 lb-ft (680 Nm) of torque; BST Edition 270 sports a nifty green Nebula exterior paint colour, while the interior brings to market a microsuede material for the seats and the steering wheel inserts, created from partly recycled Nubuck.

Don’t care for green? You can also get the 230 in black (a colour Polestar calls “Space”) and deck it out with an available full-length body stripe. If you do care for green, you can also get the body stripe on that shade, too.
Chassis upgrades on the original Polestar 2 BST Edition carry over, including the lowered ride height (it’s down by 25 mm); Öhlins two-way adjustable dampers with external reservoir; the front strut bar; the 20-per-cent stiffer springs; and unique black 21-inch alloy wheels. The rubber is 245/35R21 Pirelli P Zeros, customized for optimal performance in Polestar BST edition cars.
Supply is scarce, with only 230 examples to be produced for the European and North American markets—specifically, there’ll be only 60 for the Canada and the U.S. Want one? They can be ordered at Polestar.com on a first-come-first-served basis, apparently for CDN$96,000. With deliveries pegged between July and September 2023, you better jump on the site before these powerful Polestars are pre-picked.
