Birmingham’s Mutt Motorcycles have re-introduced an old favourite – the Mushman – to their retro bike range, with the scrambler now available in either 125cc or 250cc guises.
The second iteration of the air-cooled, single-cylinder street scrambler sees it get a new 18in stainless steel-spoked front wheel, leading up to a stainless fork brace and an all-new high-rise mudguard hung from an alloy headlight mount.
The headlight itself is an all-new LED unit with slender, fork-mounted LED indicators to match, giving the Mushman an altogether uncluttered look up front.
A twin-shock set-up soaks up the bumps at the rear while telescopic forks (with obligatory gaiters) are employed up front. Knobbly tyres add an extra level of off-road intent, if not actual greenlane ability.
There are also a few touches of detail on the Mushman not found on any other model in the Mutt range. Most notably is the standard steel tank rack, secured by leather strap that also surrounds the chrome petrol cap.
Additionally matt black engine bars are a feature only found as standard on the Mushman.
The 125cc model makes 7.3lb.ft of torque while the 250 generates 13.2lb.ft. A combined braking system with a single disc front and back brings the 125cc to a halt, while an ABS system is fitted to its bigger brother, the 250 variant.
Both the 125 and 250 models should be easily manoeuvrable, weighing in at 117kg and 130kg respectively. And the 15-litre tank should provide plenty of commuter miles between refills. Seat heights are listed as 790mm and 810mm.
The bikes are available now and retail for £3750 for the 125 and £4600 for the 250 version.
