After announcing an off-road adventure modification pack for the new VW Amarok late last year, German tuner Delta4x4 has revealed a new follow-up version of the ute. Meet the Beast 2.0.
While the first Beast had roof racks and sports bars and other addons, the 2.0 is stripped back and more rugged, focusing on its terrain-tackling ability rather than its utility as an adventure traveller.
A 150mm raise and a set of 35-inch BF Goodrich off-road tyres wrapped around Delta4x4’s own 18-inch wheels put the Amarok at a height 17cm taller than before, while ‘widebody’ wheelarches give it a tougher stance than its factory version.
Side steps can also be had, while up front Delta4x4 offers extra LED lights mounted in the grille for extra night-time or low-visibility illumination.
All up, the pack isn’t cheap, with the company quoting 12,200 Euro for the whole set, or about AU$20,000 – though almost half of that is the wheel and tyre combo.
Delta4x4 seems to be somewhat inactive in Australia, with an inactive local website, however the German website does state its parts are available worldwide.
The shop section won’t allow shipping to Australia, so it seems the best approach to accessing Delta4x4 parts and modifications is to email the company directly to its German HQ via the main website.

However, as the Amarok and Ford Ranger share a platform, a number of local off-road equipment specialists like ARB and TJM will probably offer a raft of 4×4 accessories for the Amarok.
In Australia, the Amarok starts from $50,990 before on-road costs for a six-speed manual Core TDI405, which has a 125kW/405Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder single-turbo-diesel engine.
The top-spec Aventura can be had with a 2.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine or 3.0-litre V6 diesel, both with a 10-speed automatic and costing $79,990.
