It's called the MITSUBISHI ENGELBERG TOURER.
Mitsubishi is bringing a new concept crossover to the Geneva International Motor show. The automaker says it will be an EV with more tech and more style, and they’re giving us an early glimpse of it before the show.
It’s called the MITSUBISHI ENGELBERG TOURER. In all caps, just like that. We’re not sure why Mitsubishi is shouting, but we do know that they’re doing it from the mountaintops. The Engelberg Tourer is named for a Swiss alpine town with a 12th-century monastery as well as ski resorts. It’s also a major ski resort town.
Mitsubishi isn’t giving us much in the way of details, but they are saying that this new crossover concept will be an electric vehicle. Or at least it will bring “more EV.” So maybe another plug-in hybrid, but we’re guessing full EV.
The nose takes Mitsubishi’s current styling and makes it bigger. The C-shaped accents seen on the Eclipse Cross and Outlander get a big stretch. And bright blue accents. The headlights are now ultra-thin, which seems to be becoming more and more common by the year. On the roof are two sets of three lights, making this concept tease look more rugged and more off-road capable.
It looks to be a similar front-end treatment to the e-Evolution concept first seen at the Tokyo show in 2017. Though with a much more upright and more rugged look.
The concept gets a full reveal, with more details hopefully including more about what new tech will be in it, at the Geneva show March 5th.
