In the USA, Mercedes-Benz has announced several new EQ models for the model year 2023. With the addition of the new models, the German carmaker says it is following on from the EQS Sedan with even more all-electric options for US customers.
The EQS Sedan expands its line-up with the addition of the EQS 450 4MATIC. This will join the existing EQS 450+ and EQS 580 4MATIC. At the same time, the EQE Sedan adds the EQE 350 4MATIC to its line-up, which will be joining the EQE 350+ and EQE 500 4MATIC. There will also be an AMG version of the EQE. The EQB 250+ SUV will join the EQB line-up as the long-range variant.
Mercedes says that the new EQE Sedan “offers a dynamic driving experience and a comprehensive range of connected services”. This represents the second model based on the premium-class electric architecture (EVA2).
The the EQS SUV will represent the third model series to be built on Mercedes-EQ’s purpose-built Electric Vehicle Architecture. Mercedes says that the EQS SUV will come with “high-tech innovative features, comfort and luxurious appointments for up to seven passengers”.
Just a few days ago, Mercedes-Benz gave the go-ahead for the production of the EQS SUV. The SUV offshoot of the all-electric EQS is now being produced at the US plant in Tuscaloosa for the global markets. The German carmaker already started sales a few weeks ago. All of the above-mentioned models will be delivered in “late 2022”.
