The only way to add more driving range and a second motor is with a larger battery pack, or is it? Mercedes-Benz has a unique answer to this challenge in its electric SUVs and cars.

This system will idle the front motor and gearbox on dual-motor models. When conditions require, the front motor and gearbox will turn on automatically, without driver intervention.
