This is being touted as the world's first exposed-weave carbon fiber 1969 Camaro.

Custom car tuning outfit Finale Speed has revealed the world's first exposed-weave carbon fiber 1969 Chevrolet Camaro, and it's a stunning build that took some 3,000 hours to complete. Rather than simply skinning the body with carbon fiber, Finale Speed used prepreg processes and cured the carbon in the autoclave to ensure outstanding quality that rivals what OEMs offer. You can be sure of the quality because these are the same people that Dodge trusts to supply carbon bodies for the 1970 Charger, but unlike so many Mopar beasts that get the carbon treatment, this GM restomod makes a relatively practical 650 horsepower.

Under the hood, a GM Performance LT4 crate engine resides with this featuring a Wegner pulley system. A GM fuel management system works with a VaporWorx fuel pump, while an Optima battery sits in the trunk, connected to the rest of the car with an American Autowire harness. Beneath the car, you'll find stainless-steel long-tube headers from Ultimate Headers. This leads to a custom exhaust from MagnaFlow.

Shifting is taken care of with a Tremec T-56 Super Magnum six-speed manual that feeds a nine-inch rear end with a Positraction limited-slip differential and Dutchman axles. Speedtech supplied the subframes and oversized sway bars, while JRi provided the coilovers.

With lower ride height, you need bigger wheels. 18×10.5-inch front and 18×12-inch rear Forgeline three-piece VX3C-SL wheels adorn the arches wrapped in Toyo Proxes R888R rubber, and stopping power is provided by a pair of six-piston front and four-piston rear Wilwood calipers that bite down on 14-inch slotted, cross-drilled, and vented rotors (front and rear).

While these headline components grab your attention, the smaller details are just as special. For example, LED lighting, flush-mounted glass, billet hinges and handles, and a beautiful coat of clear lacquer are all details that only get more impressive the longer you look at them.

Inside, the '69 Camaro features VXR seats, Classic Instruments gauges, an Old Air Products climate control system, an Alpine head unit with a Mosconi five-channel amplifier, and a Focal subwoofer complemented by speakers from the same company. The headliner is Alcantara and the door panels from TMI are covered in the same material, while a four-point roll bar and a carbon rear seat delete make the cabin look more purposeful.

The “Viral 1969 Camaro” is available as a roller body or as a finished vehicle and will be on display at the 2023 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, taking place from January 21-29 at Westworld. Unfortunately, pricing has not been revealed, although we doubt this will cost anything less than six figures. Should it have more power? Well, there are alternatives if you want a carbon Camaro from yesteryear.

At SEMA last year, we saw a carbon fiber 1969 Camaro from the Ringbrothers with over 1,000 hp and another from the same company that produced 890 hp. Whatever you want from your custom Camaro, there are clearly plenty of options for those with deep enough pockets.
