McLaren Special Operations (MSO) LAB, the brand’s bespoke division that prides itself on performance, innovation, and craftsmanship, has join the metaverse with the first of a series of rare and ultra-exclusive NFT (Non-Fungible Token) drops, called the Genesis Collection.
A limited invite-only randomised NFT mint will be launched on the 11th of May 2022. A series of 2 012 generatively created NFTs of the McLaren P1 and P1 GTR supercars will be available on the Ethereum blockchain and each McLaren NFT will be priced at 0.5 ETH.
According to Gareth Dunsmore, Chief Marketing Officer, McLaren Automotive: “I am delighted to be able to finally pull the covers off the MSO Lab digital community which we have created as a new way to interact with customers and fans in the Web3 universe, so it is entirely fitting that MSO LAB will be our home where we collaborate in the metaverse and push the limits of possibility and design unencumbered by physical constraints.”
NFT ownership will grant membership to the MSO community and include various benefits, such as early intel and guaranteed access to future drops, as well as exclusive rewards as the luxury supercar brand explores the future of performance in the digital space. Members will also receive an unseen digital sketch from the McLaren design boffins, a behind-the-scenes virtual tour of the McLaren Technology Centre and a chance to attend McLaren events.
The McLaren NFTs will be available on the McLaren marketplace and will be supported by the recently announced metaverse partner, InfiniteWorld, a leading infrastructure platform. As community engagement evolves the initiative will explore innovative ways to push the boundaries of access, ownership, and experience.
