LA FARGEVILLE, N.Y. – Jordan McCreadie held off late charges to win his first DIRTcar 358 Modified feature of the season at Can Am Speedway on Friday night.
Jeff Sykes led the opening 8 laps of the Whitesboro Plow Shop DIRTcar 358 Modified feature, with Jordan Kelly, Jarrett Herbison Ryan Bartlett and Preston Forbes giving chase. Sykes was able to pull away from the field but McCreadie was on the move.
McCreadie had a spirited battle with Bartlett as they battled for 2nd. After clearing Bartlett he ran down Jeff Sykes for the lead. On lap 14, McCreadie took over the top spot and began to pull away.
With 10 laps to go Michael Maresca slowed with a front end problem in turns 3 and 4, giving the field another shot at the lead. On the restart it was all McCreadie as he pulled away from the field leaving Sykes and Bartlett to battle for 2nd.
Bartlett would get by Sykes once again and try to run down McCreadie. Behind the top two drivers Billy Dunn and Tim Fuller made a late charge along with Tyler Meeks for top five spots. Dunn would charge to third but had some work to do to catch the top two. In the end, McCreadie would score the victory. Bartlett, Dunn, Fuller and Sykes completed the top five.
The Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTcar Sportsman feature would go to Brian Hudson to become the first two time winner of the season.
In caution-free Panther Frameworx 602 Crate Sprints race, Logan Crisafulli would drive away to score his 2nd win of the season.
Tony Frezzo would hang on to win the Marsha Gibbons TLC Real Estate Thundercars feature.
