A new front end design and fresh colours are coming to the Mazda 2 range in June 2023
Mazda Australia has announced it will bring a refreshed version of its Mazda 2 to market locally during 2023, with first deliveries taking place in July.
A refreshed design features most prominently among the list of changes, with no alterations to the powertrain as part of this update.
All Mazda 2s, either in hatch or sedan guise, are powered by a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 82kW/144Nm. Either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission are available.

The Mazda 2 is one of the best-selling small cars in Australia, selling 5146 units in 2022 – more than what was achieved by the Kia Rio or the Suzuki Swift but fewer than the segment-leading MG 3 with 16,168 units sold.
Pricing for the updated Mazda 2 is yet to be confirmed, however it’s likely to be announced shortly.

The Mazda 2 now looks a little bit different to before, with Mazda tweaking the front end of the vehicle with a sleaker bumper design, as well as a new fascia with either a black or body-coloured grille.
The hatchback variant of the Mazda 2 has also been updated with a redesigned rear bumper.
Nine colours will now be available for the 2, with two new colours, Aero Grey Metallic and Airstream Blue Metallic, now joining the range.
A new alloy wheel design is also debuting in 2023
Pure and Pure SP variants will also gain aesthetic appeal in the form of three coloured dash trim pieces finished in white, black or mint. The Pure SP gains a contrasting black roof.
Evolve and GT grades gain a black interior with red contrast highlights such as the air vents and seat stitching.
The flagship GT tops the range with partial leather seats, red and black dashboard, brand-new aero-inspired alloy wheels and dual-exhaust outlets.
