India’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, recently launched its flagship MPV, the Invicto, in the market. For those who are unaware, the Invicto is a rebadged or re-engineered version of the Toyota Innova Hycross, which is sold in our market. The MPV has already been launched, with a starting price of Rs 24.79 lakh, ex-showroom. The car has started reaching dealerships, and deliveries have also begun. Here we have a video of North India’s first Maruti Invicto, which was recently delivered to a customer.
The video was shared by a customer who recently received delivery of the luxury MPV. It is currently the most expensive Maruti vehicle available in India. As it is a premium product, Maruti is selling it through Nexa dealerships. In the video, the customer can be heard saying that they had a great experience with the dealership, and they purchased the 8-seater variant of the Invicto. It should be noted that Maruti is selling the Invicto in both 7 and 8-seater configurations. The owner claims that this is the first Maruti Invicto MPV to be delivered in North India. Judging by the registration, the car is registered in Uttar Pradesh.
The owner really liked the front fascia of the Invicto, feeling that it is better than that of the Toyota Innova Hycross. They also mention that the champagne gold inserts in the cabin add a premium touch when compared to the Innova Hycross. The front grille and tail lamps of the Invicto have been slightly redesigned to achieve an identity similar to other Nexa models. The Invicto is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, which have a design similar to those seen on other Nexa products like the Baleno and XL6. The interior design is mostly the same as the Hycross.
North India’s first Maruti Invicto
The dimensions of the Invicto are identical to those of the Innova Hycross, measuring 4,755mm in length, 1,850mm in width, and 1,795mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,850mm. Moving inside, you’ll notice that the dashboard layout is mostly similar to the outgoing Innova Hycross, ensuring familiarity and comfort. However, the Invicto offers several premium amenities to enhance the driving experience, including ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, a panoramic sunroof, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and a full-TFT instrument console. The MPV also provides ample storage space, with a boot capacity of 239 liters that can be expanded up to 690 liters by folding down the third row.
Unlike the Toyota Innova Hycross, the Maruti Invicto is only available with a single petrol engine option. It features a 2.0-liter strong hybrid engine that generates a combined output of 184 Ps. It is also the only Maruti vehicle in the country to be offered with an automatic transmission only. The strong hybrid version of the Invicto comes with an e-CVT transmission and has a claimed fuel economy of 23.24 kmpl. The Maruti Invicto is available in Zeta Plus (7 & 8-seater) and Alpha Plus (7-seater) variants in the market. As the Invicto is also manufactured by Toyota at their Bidadi plant, it is expected to have a long waiting period, similar to the Innova Hycross.
