Maruti Suzuki has trademarked the name ‘Engage’. It is expected to be the company’s next MPV.
Maruti Suzuki is one of the biggest car manufacturers in the Indian market. It plans to launch multiple models this year as well. Now, the automotive brand has trademarked the name ‘Engage’ in the country. While it applied for the trademark in 2023, it has been passed now. As of now, the company has not revealed any details about the upcoming car or its launch schedule. However, the Maruti Suzuki Engage is expected to be the company’s next MPV.

Recent reports claim that the popular company is working on a new premium MPV and a 7-seater SUV. The Maruti Suzuki Engage name could be used for either of these. The new 7-seater SUV will be based on the Grand Vitara. On the other hand, the new Maruti MPV is said to be a rebranded version of the Toyota Innova Hycross model. However, it will be slightly different in terms of design and styling. It is likely to be available in the market by July 2023. The premium MPV is expected to be priced at Rs 19 lakh – 30 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Maruti Suzuki Engage MPV might be the Indo-Japanese carmaker’s new flagship model. It will sport the brand’s signature grille, newly-designed headlamps, taillamps, and front bumper. On the inside, it is likely to come with a different theme than the Innova Hycross. Additional features will include a new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, powered second-row seats with an ottoman function, and a 360-degree camera.

The premium MPV will be based on the monocoque TNGA-C platform with FWD (front-wheel drive) system. It will be the company’s first model to get an advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). The Maruti Engage MPV will be powered by a 2.0L petrol engine with optional hybrid technology. The hybrid version will offer a power of 186PS and 206Nm of torque. It can be paired with an e-CVT gearbox. On the other hand, the gasoline unit will offer a maximum power of 174PS and 205Nm of torque. It can be paired with a CVT automatic transmission.
