The has been taking Malaysia's electric vehicle (EV) space by storm – the order books are strong, and crowds thronged around it at our Auto Show a couple of months back. However, a certain Mr. Tan will have the bragging rights of being the first to own a unit here.

And it being in bright Runway Red will definitely attract some gazes too. It's certainly very different from the usual Moonscape we're used to seeing that's for sure.
Mr. Tan's unit will be the first of many to grace our roads, as there's over 20 (and growing) people who've put their names down for one.
Malaysia's Kia EV6 is the sole long-range GT-Line AWD variant, with a 77.4 kWh water-cooled high voltage battery deliverying 325 PS to all four wheels. Top speed is 185 km/h; and hitting 100 km/h from a standstill only takes 5.2 seconds.
Charging times for this via an 11 kW wallbox (AC) takes 7 hours 20 minutes from 10 to 100 percent, though the EV6's 400V / 800V electrical architecture supports up to 350 kW DC fast charging which zaps the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes.
Priced from RM 300,668, the Kia EV6 comes with both active and passive safety featuers. Seven airbags, hill-start assist, with the full suite of advance driving aids (ADAS) which include Adaptive Cruise Control, a 360-degree parking camera, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert with Collision Avoidance.
