In yet another incident surrounding Mahindra SUVs, a video of the Mahindra XUV700 SUV leaking water into the cabin has now gone viral. This video was uploaded by Raftaar 7811 on their YouTube channel.
Though the Mahindra XUV700 SUV shown in the video is equipped with a large panoramic sunroof, the water leakage is not from the sunroof. In fact, the water can be seen leaking through the sunglass holder.
Post the incident, the owner posted a video of the water leakage through his social media account. In the social media post, the owner mentions that he is very disappointed with the incident and wants the automaker to take immediate action regarding the issue.
It is also worth mentioning that Mahindra is yet to release an official statement regarding the issue. As such, the cause of the water leakage through the sunglass holder is still not clear.
That being said, the issue of water leaking through the sunglass holder could be due to debris blocking the drain pipe of the sunroof. This is a pretty common issue among cars equipped with sunroofs.
Earlier, a similar incident was reported by a Mahindra Scorpio N SUV owner, where water started pouring in through the roof of the SUV. After this incident, Mahindra reportedly added a few extra paddings in the sunroof of the newer Mahindra Scorpio N SUVs to prevent such leaks.
This incident went viral on social media and Mahindra responded to this incident by recreating the scenario around a similar waterfall. In the response video, it can be seen that no water was leaking through the sunroof of the Scorpio N SUV.
