Mahindra XUV400 Variants, Price List, & Deliveries

The Mahindra XUV400 EC is offered with a choice of two onboard chargers – 3.3kW and 7.2kW. The Mahindra XUV400 EC with the 3.3kW charger is priced at Rs 15.99 Lakh while the variant with the faster 7.2kW charger commands a price tag of Rs 1649 lakh.

The Mahindra XUV400 EL is offered with the 7.2kW on-board AC charger and is priced at Rs 18.99 Lakh (all prices are ex-showroom). The introductory price will be applicable to the first 5,000 customers who purchase either variant of the new XUV400 EV from Mahindra.

The Mumbai-based carmaker aims to deliver 20,000 XUV400s in the first year. Deliveries of the XUV400 EL will start in March with the EX variants set to hit the streets during the Diwali festive period.

Mahindra XUV400 Specs, Battery Packs & Range

The Mahindra XUV400 is offered with two battery pack options – 34.5kWh (EC) and 39.4kWh (EL). The Mahindra XUV400 EC offers a MIDC range of 375km on a single charge. The Mahindra XUV400 EL, on the other hand, has a MIDC range of 456km on a single charge.

The battery packs can be plugged into any 16A plug point to charge at home. When connected to a 16A plug with the 3.3kW charger, the total time taken to replenish the battery pack from empty is 13 hours.

Using the faster 7.2kW charger reduces this time to 6 and a half hours. When the XUV400 is plugged into a 50KW DC fast charger, the electric SUV’s battery pack charges up from 0 to 80 per cent in just 50 minutes.

Both variants of the Mahindra XUV400 power a single electric motor that is mounted to the front axle. The electric motor produces 147.5bhp and 310Nm of peak torque, enough to propel the XUV400 from 0-100km/h in 8.3 seconds and onward to a top speed of 150km/h.

The Mahindra XUV400 is 4,200mm long, 1,821mm wide and 1,634 tall. The electric XUV400 SUV sports a 2,600mm long wheelbase and offers 378 litres of boot space.

Mahindra XUV400 Design & Features

The Mahindra XUV400 looks a lot like its ICE sibling, the XUV300. However, unlike its dino-burning brother, the XUV400 stretches well past the 4-metre mark which not only frees up more room but also gives the electric SUV a more balanced look.

The electric Mahindra XUV400 also sports a closed-off grille with the new Mahindra twin peaks logo and arrowhead-shaped inserts. The electric SUV also sports sleeker headlamps compared to its ICE sibling and the DRLs remain inside the unit. Instead, the EV sports copper contrast pieces all around the body including the roof.

The Mahindra XUV400’s two variants are differentiated by the kit they get as standard. The XUV400 EC rides on 16-inch steel wheels and halogen headlamps without DRLs. The seats are upholstered in fabric and the variant also gets access to Mahindra’s connected car suite – BlueSense Plus.

The higher-specced EL variant of the XUV400 rides on the snazzy alloy wheels with the copper twin peaks logo and sports projector halogen lamps with LED DRLs. The Mahindra XUV400 EL also comes equipped with leatherette upholstery, more safety features along with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The Mahindra XUV400 is offered in five colour schemes – Arctic Blue, Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black and Infinity Blue with dual tone option of Satin Copper.

Thoughts About The Newly Launched Mahindra XUV400

The Mahindra XUV400 is the Mumbai-based carmaker’s first new EV in ages and offers a maximum range of 456km as per MIDC testing. How much that range translates to in the real world is something we’ll be able to tell you when we get our hands on the new Mahindra XUV400 for a period a lot longer than we did when we drove it for the first time last year.
