It is already very well known that Mahindra is gearing up to unveil the XUV400 electric SUV on September 8. Now, ahead of its launch, Mahindra has released a new teaser of the upcoming electric SUV through its social media wings.
In the latest teaser video, Mahindra has revealed the exterior and the new Electric Blue shade of the upcoming Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV.
Analysing this latest teaser, it appears that the Mahindra has made a few changes to the SUV as the model now comes with a completely sealed front grille with the Mahindra Twin Peaks logo finished in a Copper shade, a different bumper, similar headlights but with blue-ish LED DRLs, a new rear bumper, and a new tail light with different graphics.
Though Mahindra has not yet revealed the interiors, we expect the basic interior design to be similar to that of the Mahindra XUV300. However, we also expect a few changes on the XUV400 electric SUV such as a larger 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (this system is already available on the Mahindra Scorpio Classic SUV), new rear AC vents for better cooling on the last row seats, a new gear selector knob, new upholstery, blue accents throughout the cabin, and a digital instrument cluster.
Other than that, the upcoming new Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV is slightly longer than the Mahindra XUV300 SUV as the model is directly based on the Ssangyong Tivoli. As a result, the upcoming Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV is expected to measure around 4.2 meters in length.
Mahindra has opted to use the actual length of the Tivoli SUV as the electric vehicles do not benefit from the sub-4m “hack” and using the full Tivoli platform will not only improve the boot space, but the automaker can also position the model a segment above the Tata Nexon EV and Tata Nexon EV Max.
In terms of powertrain, the upcoming Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV will be featuring a powertrain that sits between the Tata Nexon EV Max and MG ZS EV. Moreover, we expect the specifications to be luring for anyone looking to buy an EV with Rs 20 lakh budget.
That being said, we expect the upcoming Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV to come with a 40kWh to 45kWh battery pack and a 140bhp to 150bhp electric motor. Also, given the upcoming XUV400 to be slightly larger than the Nexon EV MAX, we also expect 300Nm of torque for brisk acceleration.
In terms of range and charging, we expect a claimed range of around 450km and a real-world range of around 320km. Also, we expect Mahindra to equip the model with fast charging up to 50kW.
Coming to the pricing, we expect Mahindra to price the upcoming XUV 400 electric SUV above the Tata Nexon EV Max with a price tag of around Rs 20 lakh.
Thoughts About Mahindra XUV400 Electric SUV
By opting to use the full length of the Ssangyong Tivoli platform, the upcoming XUV400 electric SUV will not only have better boot space, but the automaker can also position the model a segment above the Tata Nexon EV and Tata Nexon EV Max.
