SHAH ALAM: Lotus Cars Malaysia has confirmed the on-the-road price of the all-new Emira V6 First Edition from RM1,131,800 or RM456,900 duty free.
Deliveries are expected to begin in July or August.
Aside from embodying the ongoing transformation of the Lotus business and brand, the Emira is also the British car maker’s last model with an internal combustion engine before all future vehicles going all-electric.
Said to be the ‘For the Drivers’ mid-engine premium two-seater sports car, the Emira features the Lotus family’s striking design, thrilling dynamic performance delivering best-in-class ride and handling with outstanding aerodynamics.
Building on the legacy of the Elise, Exige and Evora, the Emira comes with a new lightweight bonded aluminium chassis developed by a technology pioneered by Lotus that remains an intrinsic part of the company’s sports car DNA.
Powering the Emira First Edition is the Lotus-honed 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine delivering 400hp and 420Nm of torque mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
The Emira can do the 0-100kph sprint in 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 288kph.
For an extra RM15,000, buyers can get a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox offering full automatic and manual control via steering wheel mounted paddle shifters.
Lotus will also be introducing a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine version with 360hp developed by Mercedes-AMG mated to an eight-speed dual clutch transmission later.
Steering is a hydraulic power-assisted type instead of an electric-powered type for better feel.
Wheels are the 20-inch ultra-lightweight V-spoke forged alloy diamond cut to create a premium two-tone finish although silver or gloss black versions are available as a no-cost option.
The First Edition specification also includes a two-piece brake discs with branded calipers and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
Exterior details include all-round LED lights, a titanium exhaust finisher, heated power-fold door mirrors and rear parking sensors.
The Lower Black Pack fitted as standard sees the front bumper air blades, front splitter, side sills and rear diffuser finished in gloss black.
The interior upholstery are available in Nappa leather in Black, Red, Ice Grey and Tan or Black Alcantara with Grey, Red or Yellow contrast stitching.
Also included are satin chrome trim finishers, white interior mood lighting and Lotus-branded sill kick plates for a premium look.
Other features include keyless start, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) adaptive cruise control, anti-collision system, fatigue alert, road sign information, vehicle speed limiter, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane change assist among others.
Centre infotainment display is a 10.25-inch touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth and USB/12v sockets, while the instrument panel is a 12.3-inch TFT screen.
Sound system is a 10-channel/340W premium audio developed in partnership with respected British brand KEF and includes DAB digital radio.
Meanwhile, owners can also choose either the Sports Pack that comes with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres and sports suspension or the Touring Pack with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport tyres and touring suspension.
The Design Pack adds privacy glass, sports pedals, black Alcantara headliner, Lotus-branded footwell mats and the choice of black, red, yellow or silver painted brake callipers.
The Convenience Pack adds front parking sensors, rear reversing camera, rain-sensing wipers with aero blades, auto-dimming mirrors and a rear luggage storage net.
The Black Pack, meanwhile, colours the roof, cantrails, mirror backs, rear Lotus badge and exhaust finisher.
Available colours are Hethel Yellow (solid), Nimbus Grey, Shadow Grey, Dark Verdant, Seneca Blue or Magma Red.

The Emira will also be available for viewing this April 9 and 10 weekend at Lotus Cars Malaysia showroom at 43, Jalan Astaka U8/84A, Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam.
