amazon, lincoln corsair updated for 2023; more tech, new looks

The Lincoln Corsair compact crossover is seeing a variety of changes both inside and out for the 2023 model year.

Changes to Lincoln’s best-selling vehicle include design updates both inside and out, more safety and convenience tech, and some simplified powertrain choices. Three trims are available for build: the Standard, Reserve and Grand Touring grades.

With regards to powertrain, the previous 2.3-liter turbocharged engine is no more. A 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4, good for 250 horsepower, powers both the Standard and Reserve trims. A 2.5-liter plug-in hybrid system, boasting a combined 266 ponies, drives the Grand Touring. Both the Standard and Reserve trims come configured as front-wheel drive with all-wheel drive available; AWD is standard on the Grand Touring grade.

Outside, the most noticeable change is upfront: a larger grille bookend by “wing-shaped” daytime running lights. There are two new exterior colors — Crystal Red and Whisper Blue– and updated wheel options help enhance the Corsair’s outwards appearance. The cabin also sees two new color palettes: Smoke Truffle and Eternal Red, the latter of which is outfitted with exclusive Pista aluminum accents.

It’s in the driver’s seat where a streamlined lower instrument panel will be best appreciated, as will the Corsair’s new safety and convenience features. For starters, a 13.2-inch infotainment system, running SYNC 4 software, sits front and center, complimented by a 12.3-inch LCD driver’s display. Amazon’s Alexa system is also built into the Corsair, packaged with three years of complimentary service. Lincoln ActiveGlide 1.2 is brought onboard, hosting new features like Lane Change Assist, Predictive Speed Assist, In-Lane Repositioning and Intersection Assist 2.0.

After destination, a 2023 Lincoln Corsair will start at $39,885– that’s for a front-wheel drive Standard model. Adding all-wheel drive will tack on an additional $2,300. The plug-in hybrid Grand Touring starts at $54,580.
