Tyres, but make it fashion!
New York Fashion Week is always full of innovative, interesting, stylish and most of the time ludicrous items of clothing for people which we are unlikely to ever own. This year cars also get in on the haute couture action.
Introducing to the catwalk the Lexus UX Air Force 1 sneakers, white tyres designed by American style entrepreneur John Elliott. He is best known for collaborations with big name brands including Nike and their Air Force 1 sneakers making this Lexus piece a collaboration within a collaboration.
The Air Force 1 car sneaker design is exactly what you’d imagine it to be, pristine white kicks for your inner city SUV. The Nike swoosh, the air holes from the shoe’s toe box are iconic to the look as are the white on white layers, double-stitched leather and small “AF1” badge which is a nice nod to the shoe’s metal lace ornament.
All they need to create now is a snapback hat for your car and it would truly be an urban SUV.
Unfortunately, unlike John Elliott’s Air Force 1s which you can purchase for around $550, these UX specific sneakers are not for sale, but they will be shown around the US on tour later in the year.
