Now, what is the BYD Atto 3?
The BYD Atto 3 is an all-electric crossover/SUV that’s roughly the size of a or , slightly larger than the or but smaller than the . It measures 4,455 mm long, 1,875 mm wide, 1,615 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,720 mm.

It’s powered by a front-mounted electric motor with 204 PS/310 Nm, enough to propel the BYD Atto 3 from 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.
In Australia, the BYD Atto 3 is available in two options – Standard Range and Extended Range. The former has a 49.92 kWh that’s good for a WLTP-rated range of 345 km while the latter gets a 60.48 kWh battery for a WLTP range of up to 420 km.
Charging wise, the onboard charger allows up to 7 kW AC charging for both the Standard and Extended Range. DC charging for the Standard Range is rated at 70 kW while the Extended Range accepts up to 80 kW.
It also features vehicle to load (V2L) function that charges other appliances, basically making it a mobile power bank.
Equipment list include panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, 5-inch digital instrument panel, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, ambient lighting, and wireless charger.
It features a full suite of ADAS with AEB, LKA, RCTA, BSM, and ACC with stop-and-go (all speed). There’s also a 360-degree view camera and 7 airbags.
As for pricing in Australia, the Atto 3 is priced from AUD 44,990 (around RM 136k) for the Standard Range variant and AUD 47,990 (around RM 146k) for the Extended Range before incentives.
In China, the Atto 3 is called the Yuan Plus and is priced from CNY 144,274 (around RM 93k) for the 49.92 kWh battery version and CNY 154,274 (around RM 99k) for the larger 60.48 kWh battery version.
In comparison, the is priced at CNY 119,800 (around RM 77k).
The origin of our Malaysia-spec BYD Atto 3 was not mentioned, but initial batches could be imported (CBU) from China before the upcoming production plant in Thailand becomes online.
