Honouring Maria Terese De Fillipis, the first woman to qualify for an F1 race in a Maserati 250F, the Italian automaker will launch bold FTributo special editions of the Ghibli and Levante models.

From the onset, Maserati was part of the most prestigious racing league in the world. Competing and winning early championships, the Italian automaker also made history by providing Maria Terese De Filippis with a 250F that she qualified with at the 1958 Monaco Grand Prix.
Doing this, the Italian racing driver became the first woman to qualify for the novel racing series, which at that stage had only competed for several years. With raw talent, Maria Terese De Fillipis, better known as “The She Devil” earned impressive results before entering the world of Formula 1, including historic races like the Targa Florio in Sicily. This was all in a time in motorsport where death was an annual certainty for a portion of drivers who competed.

Fast forward to 2022, and the memory of Maria Terese De Fillipis will be honoured with the latest Maserati Ghibli and Levante FTributo editions. The Italian automaker may no longer compete in the league, but its heritage is still strongly intertwined in motorsport.
Being a purely visual upgrade, the models will not receive any more power. That means the Ghibli Trofeo will retain a 427 kW V8 or the twin-turbocharged V6 in either 311 kW or 257 kW in less racey derivatives. For the Levante SUV, the FTributo will come with 427 kW in the Trofeo trim, while a detuned V8 will boast 384 kW as well as a 311 kW from the V6.
The most noticeable updates to the models are their exterior lick of paint, which determines the trim. The FTributo models will be available in either Arancio Devil orange or Grigio Lamiera grey. Some bold colour choices, particularly the matte orange will be paired with cobalt blue trim details that can be found on Maserati features and rim details. The models will also feature an FTributo fender badge above the iconic side vents.

On all four corners of the Levante will be 21-inch Anteo wheels while its sedan counterpart gets Titano wheels in the same size. Models finished in orange will have their rims painted in Grigio Opaco while grey models will have glossy black wheels.

etail in comparison to the black or orange leather. No pricing or allocation for these models has been announced yet so it is still uncertain if South Africa will be receiving any of these honorary models.
