GCK Exclusive-e Lancia Delta Integrale Evo-e Rally legend returns to motorsport
An ex-rally driver brings an electric Restomod version of the Lancia Delta Integrale onto the market. And even plans to start with it in the World Rallycross Championship.
Guerlain Chicherit could have rested on the laurels of his varied sports career. The 43-year-old Frenchman was world champion in freeriding four times when he was still a professional skier. Then he switched to motorsport: at the Dakar Rally he achieved top ten placings several times, and in 2009 he was cross-country rally world champion. Then Chicherit founded his own rally team called GCK Motorsport – with ambitious goals. As early as 2022, he wants to start the Dakar with a buggy that runs on biofuel. Two years later, the bolide is even supposed to conquer the toughest of all rally raid events with a hydrogen drive.
In addition, GCK Motorsport will enter the FIA World Rallycross Championship in 2022. But not with just any car: Chicherit will be launching a new edition of the legendary Lancia Delta Integrale. But not with the original drive: the iconic rally edge will be part of a 14-vehicle starter field, all of which will be supplied with the necessary power by electric motors. A standard system from Austria is used: The specialists from Kreisel Electric deliver a 500 kW / 680 PS strong drive, which provides a maximum torque of 880 Newton meters right from the start. This means that the integral should accelerate from zero to one hundred faster than a Formula 1 car.
GCK Motorsport
The cult edge will return to motorsport in 2022, as part of the FIA World Rallycross Championship.
