Mansory and MTM have teamed up to create the ultimate aftermarket Lamborghini Urus.
The Lamborghini Urus is a ludicrously powerful, mean-looking SUV, but this hasn’t stopped aftermarket tuners from trying to extract more power and improve the styling, often with disastrous results. Last month, German tuner Mansory presented its latest take on the Italian SUV featuring a brash yellow and black body kit that will divide opinions.
The tuner also increased the power to 820 horsepower and 774 lb-ft of torque, but there will always be people who want more. For its latest tuning project, Mansory teamed up with MTM to create the ultimate aftermarket Lamborghini Urus.
On the outside, the extreme aero kit adds massive front air intakes, a roof-mounted rear spoiler, and an aggressive rear diffuser incorporating a centrally mounted triple exhaust system. Finished in black with subtle gold accents, the modified Urus looks properly menacing. In stock form, the Lamborghini Urus’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 produces 641 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, but MTM has boosted the output to a staggering 1,001 horsepower.
There’s even a badge on the rear bumper proudly displaying the power output. This colossal boost was achieved by installing a pair of larger turbochargers, upgrading the intake system, adding a custom air filter, and reinforcing the SUV’s ZF eight-speed automatic to help the transmission cope with all that extra muscle.
With the stage 3 kit installed, the torque also increases to an absurd 922 lb-ft and is electronically limited to prevent damaging the gearbox. No performance figures have been released, but it's safe to assume the custom Urus is significantly faster than the standard model with nearly twice as much power on tap.
For reference, the standard Urus will accelerate from 0-62 mph in a scant 3.6 seconds and max out at 189.5 mph. The only production SUV with a higher top speed is the Bentley Bentayga Speed, which tops out at 190 mph. No pricing details are available, but this 1,001-hp beast won't be cheap considering the regular Urus starts at $218,009.
