This week’s videos really embody the automotive goodness that resides within the confines of YouTube. We got a comparison test between three hot hatches — one of which masquerades as a crossover, a cheap sports car showdown and a dig into the internals of Genesis’ most expensive luxury car.
So, headphones on, and have a relaxing Monday lunch hour with the best automotive videos on YouTube.
Thrilling Scary Fun! 125 Miles in a 2 Stroke Car
Driving over a hundred miles in a car that’s just 118 inches long and weighs just over 1,000 pounds has to be a harrowing experience. 2stroketurbo did takes a tiny 1969 Subaru 360 Sedan with a small two cylinder engine on a 125 mile trip.
GR Corolla vs Focus RS vs Kona N – Waking the Dead | Everyday Driver TV
With so many (of the best) segments being killed in favor of crossovers and EVs, its a relief to see that some brands still offer fun hot hatches for those who love driving. This week, an unexpected comparison test from EverydayDriver pits the new kid on the block, Toyota Corolla GR, against the rally darling Ford Focus RS (R.I.P) and an unexpected contender, the Hyundai Kona N. I don’t care what Hyundai says, that thing is a hot hatch, not a crossover.
The Genesis G90 is Motor Trend’s Car of the Year. Is It REALLY That Good? Mechanic’s Review
When I reviewed the Genesis G90 in 2022, I found it to be an excellent entry into the ultra luxury sedan segment; BMW and Mercedes should be on notice. Motor Trend thought it was good too, so much so that it was awarded Car Of The Year for 2023. But just how good is it under the skin? Car Care Nut Reviews took a G90, put it on a lift to get a peek at just what the G90 is made of.

8 Under $8,000 – Cheap Sports Car Showdown (Part 1) | Everyday Driver
What’s better than cheap sports cars? Food, maybe? Not many other things are better than getting your hands on something that might not have been attainable 10+ years before. So, using $8,000 as a baseline, Everyday Driver got together a group of cheap sports car with a few conditions: the aforementioned $8,000 price cap, they had to be convertible, rear-wheel drive, manual transmission and less than 25 years old. How many Electric Cars made it to from LA to Vegas? Ford, Tesla, Hyundai, Rivian, Porsche, Lucid!
It’s a test as old as time, or at least since EVs began hitting the market — going on some sort of long road trip to test a variety of things. But those tests don’t typically include multiple EVs, and certainly not 55. YouTube page EVTUNERS took 55 EVs from makes like Ford, Rivian and Tesla on a trek from Vegas to LA. You’ll have to watch to see who completes the gauntlet.
First Wash In 5 Years: Abandoned Ford GT Disaster Detail with Doug DeMuro!
Who could or would even abandon a Ford GT? Not anyone by choice. The original owner of this particular GT had passed away and the car was left behind, sitting for over five years. AMMO NYC put his detailing skills to use cleaning and restoring (and conquered some surprising gross). Doug DeMuro takes it from there, putting it on his online auction site Cars & Bids to fetch a pretty penny.
What it feels and sounds like getting shot at inside a bulletproof Corvette C8
I don’t know who would be in the market for a bulletproof Chevy Corvette, but one does exist. Edwin Sarkissian shot up a C8 Corvette modified by Armormax to see just how well it can hold up to bullet fire. To up the ante, someone is inside the Corvette as it’s being shot at.
The TWIN TURBO Lamborghini SVJ is Finally Done!
Tuner Gintani had been working on a project for a customer who wanted to throw twin turbos on their Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, a car that already has massive performance. Now the fruits of his labor are done for the customer and it’s ready to be delivered. The outcome is a crazy fast car made even more crazy that I hope the owner can handle.
FIRST DRIVE: Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato – Wild Off-Road V10 Supercar | Top Gear
Speaking of Lamborghini, I never thought I’d see the Italian supercar maker’s name mentioned alongside “off-roading”. But it does exist, in the form of this insane Huracán Sterrato, a V10-powered off-road supercar. I love it just for simply existing. Top Gear managed to get their hands on one and shows us just how absurd and wonderful this thing is.
