Looks like 2022 will be another mega year for Koenigsegg
Koenigsegg has entered its 20th-year supercar production year and for 2022, they’re planning to launch a brand-new hypercar. Founded in 1994, Koenigsegg actually produced its first production model, the CC8S, back in 2002, so this new hypercar will once again turn quite a number of heads as they celebrate their 20th production anniversary.
The teaser was posted on the company’s official Instagram feed, and the hypercar’s silhouette carries a lot of hints from Koenigsegg’s previous successful models like the CCX and CCR. Of course, they had to throw in some Agera vibes and those can be subtlely seen via its rear diffuser.
As for firepower, that is still pretty much in the dark, but most experts are stating that this new hypercar model might also be an homage to the OG of Koenigsegg, the CC8S. If we were to guess, it might be some sort of evolution of the twin-turbo V8 monster with tonnes of horsepower to play with. But will it be anything close to the Gemera’s 1700hp hybrid powertrain? We’ll just have to wait and see.
